Eagles Roost ATV Area OPENs April 1st


VEHICLES PERMITTED IN ATV AREA
1. ATVs – By definition, an ATV is a vehicle that runs on 3 or 4 low pressure tires, is ridden by a driver straddling the frame, and is steered by handle bars. An ATV cannot be licensed for street use. ATVs are limited to one person unless factory design allows for a passenger.

2. OFF-ROAD MOTORCYCLES – An off-road motorcycle is a motorcycle with proper gears, tires, and suspension for off-road use. It may or may not be licensed for street use. This is the only street-licensed type of vehicle allowed in this area. No passengers are allowed on motorcycles.

3. UTV and RUV VEHICLES – This category includes other vehicles that are allowed that do not fit in the above category and are not in the category below of vehicles not permitted.
Criteria for these vehicles is as follows:
A. Must be properly equipped with a roll cage and seat belts or safety harness. Passengers are allowed only in designated seating and limited to that number of seats. Seat belts must be in use.
B. Must not exceed a total length of over 135 inches
C. Must not exceed 68 inches in width
D. Must not exceed 78 inches in height
E. Must have no more than 4 cylinders with a displacement of less than 1150 ccs
F. Must not weigh more than 2200 pounds
G. Must not be licensable for street use
H. If equipped with a cargo area, any items in that area must be secured in a proper fashion.
No passengers are allowed in the cargo area.


Remember these Quartz Mountain Nature Park ATV Rules

-ATV Season is April 1 to October 31st
-Visitors must be out of the Eagle’s Roost ATV Area by sunset.
-Daily Use fee must be paid OR Season Pass Must be presented every time
-Season Pass is NON-TRANSFERRABLE
-All ATVs must be equipped with a whip & orange/red safety flag.
-The flag must be 10 feet above the ground when mounted on the vehicle.
-ATV use is restricted to the designated area.
-Helmets are required for drivers and/or passengers under the age of 18.
-Only vehicles that are designed to carry passengers can have two riders.
-State and Federal law prohibit damage to or removal of items of historical or cultural nature.
