Source: www.jsonline.com

Milwaukee, Wisconsin is a city that offers plenty of outdoor recreational activities for its residents and visitors. One popular activity is fishing on Lake Michigan, which is a source of both relaxation and excitement for those who love the water and spending time outdoors.

Lake Michigan is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world and has a thriving fish population. In Milwaukee, there are several popular spots to fish, including Jones Island, McKinley Marina, and South Shore Yacht Club.

Jones Island is a popular fishing spot because it offers access to a variety of game fish, including Lake Trout, Coho Salmon, and Chinook Salmon. The island is connected to the mainland by a bridge and has ample parking for those who want to fish from shore.

McKinley Marina is another popular spot, and it offers boat rentals if you don't have your own. The marina is located in downtown Milwaukee, and it provides views of the city skyline while you fish.

South Shore Yacht Club is an area that boasts calm waters and a variety of game fish. Anglers can expect to find species such as Perch, Brown Trout, and Rainbow Trout when fishing in this area.

Whether fishing from shore or from the marina, it is important to have a fishing license, which can be obtained through Wisconsin's Department of Natural Resources website.

When fishing on Lake Michigan, it is recommended to use a mixture of live bait and lures. For example, Lake Trout prefer to feed on smaller fish, so using a live minnow or worm as bait might be effective in this instance. Alternatively, using a lure that mimics a minnow may also be useful.

Overall, fishing on Lake Michigan is a fun and relaxing activity for all ages. Not only does it offer the chance to catch various types of fish, but it also allows for soaking up the beauty of the lake and the surrounding nature. So grab your fishing gear, and head out to one of Milwaukee's many fishing spots for a day of adventure on the water!
