It's a historic site that dates back to the early 1900s and offers a fascinating glimpse into the area's history. I also recommend exploring the Pine Island Sound Aquatic Preserve. The archaeology trails were fascinating, and I learned so much about the Calusa Indians and their history in the area. Lastly, I highly recommend taking a boat tour to visit the nearby islands. The crystal clear waters and secluded beaches were like something out of a dream. Bokeelia truly is a hidden gem!

I recently spent a weekend in Bokeelia, FL and had such a wonderful time exploring the area. One of my favorite activities was renting a kayak and exploring the mangrove tunnels. It was so peaceful and serene, and I even spotted some dolphins swimming nearby! I also recommend checking out the Bokeelia Shell Mound, which is a unique archaeological site.
