Mexican Outback Camel Safari

Mexican
Source: www.viator.com

If you're planning a family vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, it's easy to get caught up in the beaches, water sports, and nightlife. However, there's another adventure that you don't want to miss - a Camel Safari. It's a unique way to experience the Mexican outback with your family and explore the pristine desert landscape. Here are some tips and things to do to make the most of your experience.

When and Why to Go:

The best time to visit the Mexican outback is during the cooler months between November and April because of the high temperatures during summer. Camels are well-suited for desert environments, so they can handle the heat, but it can be stressful and uncomfortable for humans, especially young children. In addition, the desert landscape comes alive during the cooler months, making it more enjoyable for visitors.

The Camel Safari Experience:

Embarking on a Camel Safari in Cabo is different than one would imagine. Often, we see images of deserts in movies or on television where the vibe is of a rugged, difficult terrain. But in Cabo, it's quite serene, with soft sand, gentle undulations in the landscape, and a plethora of stunning cacti and flowering shrubs.

Before the safari begins, you're given an overview of the journey beforehand. You get suitable head gear and permits to enter the park for both you and the Camel.

The camels are well trained and settled in their surroundings. They're sweet, gentle creatures like none other. You'll be paired with two members of your family per one camel, and you'll have a guide alongside you throughout the journey.

During the trek, you'll likely run into desert animals such as small rabbits, tortoises and a variety of lizards, getting the opportunity to get up close and personal with the wildlife around you.

Things to Keep in Mind:

Even though the camels are gentle creatures, there's always an element of danger involved. As such, kids younger than four years old are discouraged from taking part in the safari. Parents will need to sign an indemnity waiver before starting the tour, acknowledging that the journey is at their own risk. Also, bring enough sunscreen and hats to protect yourselves from the sun while you ride.

Wrapping It Up:

The Mexican Camel Safari in the Cabo San Lucas outback is an excellent way for you and your children to connect with the natural beauty of the land while creating memories that will last a lifetime. It's a day full of fun and laughter, and the perfect way to get off the beaten track and experience something a little different.

As British reality star Mark Wright recommends: "I can 100% say I've never experienced anything like being on a camel before. It's really quite something; it's quite surreal!"

When I think of Cabo, I immediately think of all the fun things there are to do with kids. On a recent trip, my family and I had a blast exploring the San Jose Estuary. It's a protected wildlife sanctuary where you can spot various bird species and even see some crocodiles! It was such a unique experience for my kids. Another highlight of our trip was visiting the Buccaneer Queen pirate ship and going on a fun-filled pirate-themed day cruise. The kids loved dressing up and participating in the treasure hunt. Cabo is definitely a great destination for a family vacation, with so many exciting activities to keep everyone entertained!

I recently took my family on a vacation to Cabo with my kids, and let me tell you, there are so many amazing things to do with them! One of our favorite activities was visiting the Cabo Dolphins center. My kids got the opportunity to swim with dolphins and it was such a memorable experience for them. We also spent a day at Medano Beach, where there are lots of water sports and activities for kids of all ages. Cabo also has some great family-friendly restaurants and we loved trying out the local cuisine. Overall, our trip to Cabo with the kids was a huge success and we can't wait to go back!
