Explore the ghost town of Marysville

Source: www.malmstrom.af.mil

If you're looking for a unique and eerie adventure, a ghost town might just be the right choice for you. Located in the heart of Montana is the abandoned mining town of Marysville. It was once a bustling community during the late 1800s, when it was operated under the name of Lincoln MT. Today, it's a fascinating destination for history buffs and ghost-hunters alike.

Marysville is located on the scenic highway between Helena and Great Falls, so getting there isn't a problem. As you approach the town, the first thing you'll notice is the lack of activity. There are no people around, no signs of life, and the buildings all seem to be frozen in time. It's a haunting sight, to say the least.

The mining industry of Marysville began in the 1860s. At its peak, it had over 3,000 residents and boasted several hotels, stores, and saloons. The ore was hauled out of the ground and transported by horses and wagons. Life was hard, but the people of Marysville made the most of it. Unfortunately, when the gold ran out, the town began to decline, and by the early 1900s, it was practically deserted.

Nowadays, there are about twenty buildings left in Marysville, and some of them have been restored. The main attraction is the Wells Fargo Stagecoach Inn, which is said to be one of the most haunted buildings in Montana. A few people have reported hearing strange noises and feeling uneasy when inside. Other buildings that have been restored include the Miner's Union Hall, the schoolhouse, and the Marysville House Bed and Breakfast.

One of the interesting things about visiting Marysville is the freedom to explore. You can wander the streets and peek into the abandoned buildings to your heart's content. The only caution is to be careful, as the structures are old and may be unstable. It's also advisable to visit during the day, as the town can be quite dark and spooky at night.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a unique adventure, consider visiting Marysville. It's a chance to step back in time and experience the wild west for yourself. Whether you're a history buff or a ghost-hunter, this eerie ghost town will not disappoint. Just be cautious, as you never know what you might encounter in those abandoned buildings.
