When you think of the Titanic, what comes to mind? For many people, it's the tragic sinking of the "unsinkable" ship and the loss of over 1,500 lives. But for others, the name Titanic is synonymous with one of its most famous passengers: Margaret Brown, also known as "The Unsinkable Molly Brown."

Margaret Brown was born in Missouri in 1867 and later moved to Denver, where she became involved in social and political causes. She was an advocate for women's suffrage, worked to improve the lives of miners and their families, and even ran for political office. But it was her experience on the Titanic that made her a household name.

In April 1912, Margaret was traveling in Europe with her husband when they decided to return home on the Titanic. On the night of April 14th, the ship struck an iceberg and began to sink. Margaret famously helped others into lifeboats and even took charge of one herself, fighting to keep the passengers alive until they were rescued by the RMS Carpathia.

After the Titanic disaster, Margaret continued to be a prominent figure in American society. She was celebrated for her bravery and dedication to social causes, and in 1932 she even ran for the United States Senate. In popular culture, she was immortalized by the Broadway musical and Hollywood movie adaptation of her life, which, though popularly known as "The Unsinkable Molly Brown," is titled "The Unsinkable Margaret Brown."

But if you want to learn more about Margaret Brown's life and legacy, there's no better place to visit than the Molly Brown House Museum in Denver. This historic Victorian home was built in the 1880s and was purchased by the Browns in 1894. Margaret lived here for many years, and the house has been preserved as a museum to honor her memory and the causes she championed.

At the Molly Brown House Museum, visitors can take a guided tour of the home and see how the Browns lived during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. You'll see beautifully preserved furniture, artwork, and household items from the Victorian era, as well as exhibits dedicated to the lives of Margaret and her husband.

One of the highlights of the tour is the master bedroom, where Margaret was sleeping the night the Titanic hit the iceberg. You'll see the actual bed where she was sleeping, as well as her clothing and personal items. It's a poignant reminder of the human cost of the Titanic disaster and the courage and resilience of its survivors.

The Molly Brown House Museum is open year-round, and tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Guided tours are available daily, and there are also special events and programs throughout the year, including historical reenactments and holiday celebrations.

If you're a fan of history and are interested in learning more about one of the Titanic's most famous passengers, be sure to visit the Molly Brown House Museum in Denver. It's a must-see destination for anyone who wants to step back in time and see how one remarkable woman made a difference in the world.

My friends and I recently spent a day in Lodo and it was incredible. We started off by renting bikes and riding along the Cherry Creek Trail. The views of the city and the mountains were breathtaking. After our bike ride, we stopped by Denver Milk Market for some food. The market has a variety of restaurants and food stalls, and the choices were overwhelming. I ended up getting a slice of pizza from Bonanno Brothers Pizzeria and it was so good. Lodo has so much to offer and I can't wait to go back and explore more.
