The Lunar New Year Parade is a vibrant and colorful event showcasing Chinese culture and traditions. This annual parade normally takes place in late January or early February, celebrating the beginning of the Chinese lunar calendar. In 2021, the parade was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but there are hopes for it to return in the coming years.

New York City is an incredible destination any time of year, but there’s something truly magical about the Big Apple in February. While the weather can certainly be chilly, with temperatures averaging around 32°F (0°C) and occasional snowfall, this is also the best time of year to explore the city’s winter wonderland. And one activity that should be at the top of your list is ice skating at the Rockefeller Center.

Located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, the Rockefeller Center is home to one of the most iconic ice skating rinks in the world. This is a place where people from all over the city come to lace up their skates and glide across the ice against the stunning backdrop of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.

If you’re planning a trip to New York City in February, then ice skating here is an absolute must. The rink may be smaller than some of the city’s other skating venues, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in atmosphere. This is a place where you can truly immerse yourself in the magic of winter in the city that never sleeps.

But before you hit the ice, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First, be sure to dress warmly. The rink is outside, so you’ll want to be prepared for the cold weather. Layers are key here, as you can always shed them if you get too warm. And don’t forget a hat, gloves, and scarf to keep your extremities warm.

Second, know that the rink can get crowded. This is especially true during peak times like weekends and holidays. If you can, try to visit during off-peak hours like weekday mornings or late in the evening when the crowds tend to be smaller.

Finally, be prepared to pay for admission and skate rentals. The prices vary depending on the day and time of your visit, but expect to pay around $25-$35 per person for admission and skate rentals.

Overall, ice skating at the Rockefeller Center is an unforgettable experience that’s perfect for all ages. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or a first-timer, this is a must-do activity for anyone visiting New York City in February. So grab your skates, bundle up, and get ready for an adventure you’ll never forget.
