If you're a history buff or just love exploring unique landmarks, then Isla de Lobos has a treat in store for you – a historic lighthouse that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean from the highest point on the island. Situated off the coast of Punta del Este, Isla de Lobos is a must-visit destination for those looking to discover the natural beauty and rich history of Uruguay's stunning coastline.

The lighthouse on Isla de Lobos was built in 1858, making it one of the oldest on the South American continent. Constructed out of brick and iron, this impressive tower stands at an impressive 198 feet and commands breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding landscape.

Visitors to the island can climb up the winding staircase that leads to the top of the tower and take in the panoramic vistas from the observation deck.
