The park is full of trees and foliage, including hardwoods like dogwoods, maples, and chestnuts, which make it a perfect spot for visitors looking to appreciate the changing of the seasons.

Fall foliage in the park usually starts in mid-October when the leaves begin to turn yellow, orange, and red, reaching their peak in early November, and by the end of the month, most of the trees will have lost their fall leaves.

With plenty of tourist attractions and things to do, there's always something for everyone in the Bay Area. However, if you're looking for something different and exciting, the Alcatraz Island night tour is an unforgettable experience that you don't want to miss.

A visit to Alcatraz Island is a must for any visitor to San Francisco, but the night tour adds an extra layer of mystery and intrigue. Alcatraz Island is a former federal maximum-security prison that operated from 1934 to 1963. It is located on a small island in the middle of San Francisco Bay, which adds to its allure and ominous reputation. By taking the night tour, visitors get to experience the island in a whole new light - or rather, in very little light.

The night tour typically begins around dusk, when the sun sets over the bay and the island's cells become cast in shadow. The tour guides will light the way with lanterns, taking visitors through the prison's cell blocks, mess hall, and other famous areas while telling stories about the island's history and some of its most notorious prisoners, including Al Capone and the Birdman of Alcatraz. The lack of light makes the surroundings spooky and eerie, making for an unforgettable experience.

One of the highlights of the night tour is the audio program, which features the voices of former inmates and guards, giving visitors an intimate glimpse into what life was like inside the prison. This immersive audio experience is only available on the night tour and adds to the already haunting atmosphere of the island.

During the tour, visitors will also have the opportunity to see some of the island's natural surroundings, including endemic plants and species of birds. The island is a protected area, and the National Park Service has worked to preserve it as a native habitat for various wildlife species.

If you're planning a trip to San Francisco in November, the Alcatraz Island night tour is a must-see, offering a one-of-a-kind experience that is both educational and thrilling. It's recommended to book tickets in advance, as the night tour is very popular and often sells out quickly.
