During my visit to the Maker's Mark Distillery, I discovered a charming little town called Bardstown that is definitely worth exploring. There are so many things to do in Bardstown, from visiting historic sites like the My Old Kentucky Home State Park to browsing the unique shops and boutiques on the main street. One of my favorite activities was taking a tour of the Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History, where I learned all about the fascinating history of bourbon. And of course, no trip to Bardstown is complete without enjoying a delicious meal at one of the local restaurants that serves up tasty Kentucky cuisine.

I recently visited the Maker's Mark Distillery and had an amazing time exploring the surrounding area. One of my favorite things to do near the distillery was going on a bourbon-themed horseback riding tour. We got to ride through beautiful rolling hills and even stopped at some local bourbon distilleries along the way. It was such a unique and fun experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Plus, getting to enjoy a glass of Maker's Mark at the end of the tour was the perfect way to end the day!

If you're a nature lover like me, you'll be thrilled to know that there are some beautiful hiking trails near the Maker's Mark Distillery. One trail that I highly recommend is the Cedar Creek Trail, which offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside and even passes by a picturesque waterfall. It's the perfect way to spend a morning or afternoon in nature before heading to the distillery for a bourbon tasting. And if you're lucky, you might even spot some wildlife along the way. Just make sure to pack comfortable shoes and plenty of water, as the trail can be a bit challenging in some places.
