As someone who loves history, one of my favorite things to do outside in Northern Virginia is to explore the numerous historical sites in the area. Visiting historic battlefields like Manassas and Fredericksburg gives me a deeper appreciation for the region's rich past and the sacrifices made by soldiers. Lastly, I highly recommend visiting the beautiful gardens at the Hillwood Estate in Washington D.C. Living in Northern Virginia has given me the opportunity to discover some amazing outdoor activities. One of my recent favorites is kayaking on the Potomac River. There's something so peaceful about paddling along the calm waters and taking in the beautiful scenery. Another fun thing to do outside is to visit the various farmers markets in the area. Not only can you pick up fresh and delicious produce, but many of the markets also have live music and food trucks, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere. And of course, I can't forget to mention the famous cherry blossoms in Washington D.C. Every spring, the Tidal Basin comes alive with stunning pink blooms, and it's a sight that should not be missed!
