Located on the stunning Adriatic coast of Croatia, Makarska is a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters, and vibrant nightlife. However, there is much more to this charming town than just its coastline. One of the most exhilarating experiences you can have in Makarska is climbing the Biokovo Mountain for breathtaking views of the coast.

The Biokovo Mountain is a part of the Biokovo Nature Park, a protected area that covers a significant portion of the Dalmatian hinterland. Standing at an impressive height of 1,762 meters, the mountain offers panoramic views of the Makarska Riviera, the Adriatic Sea, and the surrounding islands.

There are several hiking trails that lead up to the summit of Biokovo, catering to different levels of fitness and experience. The trail is well-marked and maintained, but it can be steep and challenging at times, so proper hiking gear is recommended.

As you ascend the mountain, you will be treated to spectacular views of the coast and the shimmering blue waters below. The trail will take you through forests of pine and oak trees, along rocky cliffs, and past quaint villages nestled in the foothills. Along the way, you may also encounter some unique plant and animal species that call the Biokovo Mountain home.

Once you reach the summit, you will be rewarded with an awe-inspiring panorama that stretches from Split in the north to the Peljesac Peninsula in the south.
