Swimming at Paradox Lake

Swimming
Source: Adirondack Hub

Schroon Lake is known for its beautiful scenery and clear, refreshing waters. While the lake itself is a popular spot for swimming, one nearby destination that should not be missed is Paradox Lake.

Located just a short drive from Schroon Lake, Paradox Lake offers a unique swimming experience. Unlike many other lakes in the region, Paradox Lake is a natural, glacier-fed lake – meaning that the water is incredibly clear and pure.

When visiting Paradox Lake, there are a few things to keep in mind. The first is that there are no lifeguards on duty. While the lack of lifeguards means that the lake has a more tranquil and natural feel, it also means that visitors should exercise caution when swimming.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the lake is relatively small, so it can get crowded on hot summer days. If you’re looking for a more peaceful experience, consider visiting the lake early in the morning or on a weekday.

Despite these potential challenges, swimming at Paradox Lake is a truly unforgettable experience. The water is cool and clear, and the surrounding mountain scenery is breathtaking.

Some popular activities at the lake include kayaking and paddleboarding. The lake has several small islands that are fun to explore, and the calm waters make it easy for beginners to try out these watersports.

Whether you’re looking for a refreshing dip on a hot day or an adventure on the water, Paradox Lake is well worth a visit. With its stunning scenery and crystal-clear water, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Adirondacks.
