I absolutely love spending New Year's Day in Chicago! One of my favorite things to do is to take a stroll along the iconic Navy Pier. The atmosphere is always so lively and there are usually some great events and activities happening. Another must-do for me is visiting the Art Institute of Chicago. It's a great way to start the year immersing myself in art and culture. And of course, I can't forget about indulging in some delicious deep-dish pizza at one of the local pizzerias. Chicago definitely has a lot to offer on January 1st!

Being a Chicago native, I have experienced many New Year's Days in the city, and there is always something exciting to do. A tradition for me is to head downtown and cheer on the participants of the annual Polar Plunge at North Avenue Beach. It's such a fun and somewhat crazy event to witness! After that, I like to take a walk through Millennium Park and enjoy the beautiful winter scenery. And to end the day on a high note, I like to head to a local bar or brewery and watch some college football bowl games with friends. Chicago on New Year's Day is always a blast!
